IMPORTANT: COVID-19 NOTICE
It has been determined that Central Islip Public Library shall be closed, effective March 16th 2020 and until further notice to protect the health and well-being of our patrons and staff. The library fully appreciates the disruption and disappointment this will cause our patrons, but finds that it is most important to preserve the safety of our community during this state of emergency. During this time, no fines or fees shall be accrued on materials – all programming and Community Room events are cancelled, no donations shall be accepted. Please check this website and call for continued updates on the library’s status.
To those who are looking for some great FREE resources to help entertain and educate during this time of school closures, please follow our library’s Facebook page. We will be continuously posting links that will be of interest to both children and adults. All activities are free, online, and available to users of any library.
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING OUR TRUSTEE ELECTION:
At the March 31st Board Meeting it was determined that, in the best interest of the community and in-step with Executive Orders issued by the Governor, the date of the Annual Trustee Vote will be rescheduled to Tuesday, June 30th.
Tuesday, June 30th, 9 AM – 9 PM / Pending Due to COVID-19 Issue
One Library Trustee seat shall be voted on (a 5-year term) - there is NO INCREASE to your Library Budget, so no budget vote is necessary. This is in accordance with New York State Education Law Section 269.
